Justin
When I heard the news,
That you had passed away,
I hoped it was a dream.
That it would go away.
Just two days before,
You had grown a year.
Your giggles and your laughter,
Like a bell, they ring clear.
You left footprints on our hearts,
Though you never walked.
We laughted at all your jokes,
Although you never talked.
Nick said he'd teach you football,
Dad spoke of your battle scar,
The kids played with you endlessly,
You were your moms lucky star.
Your eyes glittered like the night,
Your smile was contagious,
Your hair grew in so thick,
And you were so couragious.
And although you may be gone,
In our hearts you rest.
Your only lived a year,
But so many lives you blessed.
In Memory of Justin Kilpatrick, my brother, June 26 2007 - June 28th 2008
